The Friends of Ohiopyle have been working with staff from Ohiopyle State Park, Ohiopyle Borough Council, DCNR Recreation and Conservation, and an established playground committee on the rehabilitation of Stewart on the Green. Deeded by Andrew Stewart in the original layout of “Falls City”, this block located across from the Ohiopyle Stewart Community Center is forever preserved as community open space. Pashek and Associates have been working with the group in developing a sustainable community space complete with a rentable pavilion, ADA compliant play equipment, native plants including a rain garden, and incorporation of community art. Construction documents are nearly complete to bring the first phase of the project out to bid for construction later this year.
Thanks to all of the generous funders. Donations towards the project are still appreciated.
